Many people seek wealth but struggle to find the right means to achieve it in a halal way. Islam teaches us that money is not just about being rich; it is a tool for achieving contentment and securing blessings in both this life and the next.
The Quran and Sunnah provide a blueprint for financial success, ensuring that we maintain fairness and avoid deception in business. True success comes not only from making earnings but also from keeping our perspective right and maintaining self-reliance while placing full trust in Allah.
One of the best examples is found in the Hadith of Prophet Dawud (David) where the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, “The Prophet David used not to eat except from the earnings of his manual labor” (Sahih al-Bukhari 2073, Book 34, Hadith 26).
This highlights the importance of working hard and avoiding jealousy towards others who have been granted opportunity and rizq. At the same time, making dua and supplication is key to increasing barakah in our wealth. The comparison between those who make an effort and those who simply wait for fruition shows that both action and tawakkul go hand in hand.
Many people hesitate to talk about money due to social pressures, considering it taboo, but this should not stop us from seeking motivation. Learning from successful individuals and adopting their disciplined habits can help us achieve our goals while maintaining equality and ownership of our financial decisions.
Whether it’s managing a budget, making a purchase, or stretching our needs, everything must be approached with wisdom and trust in Allah’s decree. When we follow the right rules and take the right actions, our expectation for financial stability becomes a reality.
Dua For Wealth

One of the most powerful duas for sustenance and increase in wealth is found in the Holy Quran [3:38], where Prophet Zakariya made a supplication for offspring and continuity of his family. Though he was specifically asking for a child, this dua can also be understood as a request for worldly provisions and sustenance. He called upon Allah, saying:
رَبِّ هَبْ لِي مِن لَّدُنكَ ذُرِّيَّةً طَيِّبَةً ۖ إِنَّكَ سَمِيعُ الدُّعَاءِ
(Transliteration: Rabbi hab li min ladunka dhurriyyatan tayyibatan. Innaka sami’ud-du’a.)
(Translation: “My Lord, grant me from Yourself a good offspring. Indeed, You are the Hearer of supplication.”)
This dua teaches us to trust Allah’s wisdom while we provide for and raise our children and seek tayyibatan wealth. When recited with sincerity, it can bring blessings in all aspects of life.

Dua for Good in This World
One of the most oft-repeated supplications in the Quran is a powerful prayer for both this life and the hereafter. Found in Surah Al-Baqarah [2:201], this dua is a complete request for success, goodness, and protection. It was frequently recited by the Prophet ﷺ, emphasizing its significance.
The words of this dua ask Allah to grant us good in dunyaa, to save us from harm, and to keep us from going astray. It acknowledges the importance of halal blessings and sustenance while seeking refuge from torment and chastisement.
TRANSLITERATION: Rabbana atina fid-dunya hasanatan wa fil-‘akhirati hasanatan waqina ‘adhaban-nar.
This dua encompasses every aspect of life—spiritual, financial, and emotional—asking for prosperity while staying within the bounds of righteousness. By seeking Allah’s favor, we ask Him to protect us from the Fire, ensuring that our wealth, actions, and faith lead us toward eternal success.
Dua for Mercy
Rabbi, we ask You to forgive us and shower Your mercy upon us. Allah alone provides all blessings and wealth, and He keeps us on the straight path. As Muslims, we must turn to Him alone, trusting in His good and remembering that He is the Best of those who show mercy. Ultimately, we seek His help in this life and the next, for He is Khayrur Rahimeen. Ameen.
Dua for Wealth and Blessings
The Prophet (peace be upon him) advised us to seek Allah’s help in all matters, especially in wealth and sustenance. A simple yet powerful dua for abundant provision is:
اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ مِنْ فَضْلِكَ
Allahumma inni as’aluka min fadlika.
(O Allah, I ask You for Your bounty.)
This dua carries deep meaning, as it reminds us to trust Allah’s wisdom and know that He opens doors of provision in ways we least expect. When reciting it with a sincere heart, we should have full faith that Allah will grant what is best for us. Along with prayer, maintaining halal earnings and seeking barakah in our lives ensures lasting blessings. As we leave the Mosque or finish our daily prayers, let’s keep our tongues moist with these duas and allow their impact to bring about a transformative change.
Dua Before Eating

Before starting a meal, it is important to remember اللّهُمَّ and express gratitude for the food He has provided. Saying بِسْمِ اللَّهِ before eating brings blessings and protection. A powerful dua to recite is:
اللّهُمَّ بَارِكْ لَنَا فِيمَا رَزَقْتَنَا وَقِنَا عَذَابَ النَّارِ
“O Allah! Bless what You have given us and save us from the punishment of Hellfire.” This simple yet meaningful prayer ensures that what we consume is filled with barik and goodness. With the Name of Allahumma, we seek His mercy and protection, as wa-qina adhaban-naar reminds us to ask for safety from harm.

O Allah, I take refuge in You from all forms of anxiety, sorrow, and the burden of debts. Often, a person may feel overpowered by men, facing cowardice, weakness, and miserliness, which make life difficult.
This dua helps remove laziness, grants strength against being helpless, and eases financial struggles. Allahumma, we ask You to free us from hardship and make us strong in both faith and wealth, for true success lies in Your mercy. Bukhari narrates this supplication, teaching us the power of seeking help in difficult times.
Conclusion
We should always be grateful for what Allah has given us, as true wealth is not just about numbers but the barakah in our lives. A simple thought experiment can shift our perspective—would you trade places with Warren Buffet? He is the 3rd richest man, with a net worth of 88 billion, yet his age is 88. True prosperity lies not just in material gain but in wisdom and contentment.
